What the app does
Where's Brado quietly records roughly one location per hour on your iPhone, groups those points into visits, and lets you ask "where was I on a given day at a given time?" Everything stays on your phone: no account, no server, no analytics. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
How do I grant "Always" location permission?
Background recording needs the Always permission. iOS does not offer "Always" on the first prompt, so it takes two steps:
- When the app first asks, choose Allow While Using App.
- Then open the iPhone Settings app → scroll to Where's Brado → Location → choose Always. Leave Precise Location on for accurate place names.
If you only grant "While Using," the app can only record while it is open on screen, so your history will have gaps.
How do I export my data?
Open the app → Settings → Export. The app produces a file containing all of your recorded locations and visits, which you can save to Files or share with any app on your phone. The export is yours; nothing is sent to us.
How do I delete my data?
Open the app → Settings → Delete all data. This permanently erases the app's database on your phone. Deleting the app itself from your home screen also deletes all of its data. There is no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing for us to delete on our end.
Why is the app asking for location in the background?
That is the whole point of the app: it records where you are about once an hour so you can look it up later. It is tuned to use very little battery. You can turn it off at any time by changing the location permission in iPhone Settings.
